There will be a playoff-like intensity at AT&T Center this weekend, and fans will be paying playoff-like prices just to get past the gates.
The Spurs set to host the Warriors in a pivotal West battle on Saturday night, penning a battle between the conference’s top two teams as the playoff push heats up. The Warriors own a two-game lead over the the Spurs entering their Friday night matchup with the Timberwolves, so Saturday’s game could see the Spurs inch to within a half-game by the final buzzer.
And it will cost a pretty penny to see Kawhi Leonard and Co. make that push.
On TicketIQ, the average resale price for Spurs vs. Warriors tickets is now $425. That makes it the seventh most expensive Spurs regular season home game since at least 2010, when TicketIQ began tracking resale ticket data. However, the game’s get-in price is currently $140 – the fourth highest get-in price for a Spurs game of the last eight years.
Just three other marquee games have owned a higher asking price in San Antonio than Saturday’s matchup with the Warriors. The Spurs saw a $241 get-in price for a March 19, 2016 game against the Warriors, which stands as the most expensive get-in price AT&T Center has posted for a regular season game. The Spurs would go on to defeat the Warriors, 87-79, with LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard leading the way.
The two other instances came against the Lakers on February 6, 2016 and Pelicans on December 18, 2016. With Kobe Bryant playing in his final game in San Antonio, last season’s game against the Lakers owned a $151 get-in price. The Spurs retired Tim Duncan’s jersey in a pre-game ceremony prior to playing the Pelicans, and tickets started from $143 each.
The Spurs will welcome the Warriors back to AT&T Center on March 29. That game owns a higher average price than this weekend at $423 though tickets start from $107 each, 24 percent cheaper than Saturday.
