James Taylor Announces North American Fall Tour
Showing little sign of slowing down, one of the folk-rock scene’s most celebrated singer-songwriters will tour North America for the second time in 2014 with the release of James Taylor tickets for nine dates this fall.
The five-time Grammy winner has only just completed his Stateside summer trek, but following a series of shows across Europe he will once again hit the road in his homeland, starting at Des Moines’ Wells Fargo Arena on November 1 – tickets for which are available on TiqIQ at a get-in price of $116.
Taylor, currently on board the Queen Mary 2 where he will perform twice during the cruise ship’s eight-day transatlantic journey, will then head to the likes of Milwaukee’s Bradley BMO Harris Bradley Center on Nov 4 ($94), Moline’s I Wireless Center on Nov 6 ($175) and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov 9 ($130), with several further dates expected to be added in the near future.
James Taylor tickets are on offer at TiqIQ for all nine confirmed shows, with the Nov 19 concert at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena currently with the lowest get-in price at $81 and the Nov 7 performance at Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center with the highest at $176.
Fans with James Taylor tickets for his recent run of gigs have been treated to a career-spanning set covering everything from his 1968 self-titled debut (“Carolina In My Mind,” “Something In The Way You Move”) right up to 2002’s last original studio effort, October Road (“Raised Up Family”), including his breakthrough hit, “Fire and Rain,” his sole US number one, “You’ve Got A Friend,” and the Grammy-winning “Handy Man.”
James Taylor Returns To Touring in 2014
After taking a break from the stage this year to concentrate on writing new material, one of America’s most accomplished singer-songwriters will return to performing in 2014 following the release of James Taylor tickets for a series of shows in the US and Europe.
The 65-year-old, who is currently working on his first album of original compositions since 2002’s October Road, will first play in front of an audience on January 24 when he helps to honour former touring partner Carole King at the Musicares Person of the Year Gala in Los Angeles, an award he received himself back in 2006.
The folk-rock veteran will then return to the annual Fourth of July celebrations at Lenox’s Tanglewood for the 23rd time in his career before climbing aboard the England-bound Queen Mary 2 cruise ship for several performances during its August 27-September 4 eight-day sail.
Taylor will then kick off a 14-date European tour at Plymouth Pavilions on September 5, taking in the likes of Norway’s Konserthus, Belgium’s Cirque Royal and Dublin’s The O2, before concluding with a two-night run at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 7-8.
Fans lucky enough to get their hands on James Taylor tickets for his last major tour in 2012 were treated to a set-list spanning everything from his 1968 self-titled debut (“Carolina In My Mind”) right up to 2008’s Covers (“I’m A Road Runner”) including his debut hit, “Fire & Rain,” his US Hot 100 number one “You’ve Got A Friend” and the Grammy-winning “Handy Man.”
