TiqIQ Top 25 Week 8 Update #2

UCLA suffered their first loss of the season against #13 Stanford. The Bruins still have a good chance to reach the Pac-12 championship game in a weak Pac-12 South. UCLA will travel to Eugene this weekend to take on the #3 Oregon Ducks. Although Oregon is the last ranked team the Bruins will face the rest of the season, a matchup against Arizona State could be very important, as the Sun Devils are ahead of the Bruins in the Pac-12 south. UCLA football tickets dropped a spot in the TiqIQ Top 25 rankings to #24 and decreased in average ticket price by two percent to $121. Bruins tickets could fluctuate based on the level of competition UCLA will face the rest of the season.

Although Texas A&M suffered their second loss of the season to Auburn, the Aggies did not change much in our rankings. At an average ticket price of a whopping $187, Texas A&M football tickets hold the #4 spot due largely in part to the popularity of Johnny Football. The Aggies still have two tough road matchups at the end of the season against #13 LSU and #5 Missouri. The draw of big games at Kyle Field has helped Texas A&M in ticket prices. Now that the Aggies do not have any big matchups left on the home slate, it will be interesting to see if prices change.

Notre Dame was finally able to beat USC at home for the first time in five games. Tommy Rees threw two touchdowns in a defensive game with ND beating USC 14-10. Notre Dame football tickets have been a huge draw throughout the season and moved back to the #2 spot in our rankings. The one percent increase to $224 average per ticket shows the heavy demand of Notre Dame football even though the Irish do not have a ranked opponent until #6 Stanford. If the Irish can win the games they are suppose to, the matchup with Stanford could have bowl implications for Notre Dame.

Georgia football tickets took a one percent decrease to $183 in the TiqIQ Top 25 rankings. Expectations for the Bulldogs have changed mightily in the past few weeks after back-to-back losses to Missouri and Vanderbilt. The Dawgs have a bye this week, setting up the big rivalry game against Florida in Jacksonville. This game does help Georgia out in our rankings based on the demand for an annual rivalry game. The only ranked team Georgia will play the rest of the year is against #11 Auburn.

LSU lost a thriller this past weekend to Ole Miss in Oxford. The Tigers sit in 3rd place in the highly competitive SEC west. The remaining games on the schedule are very favorable to LSU football tickets. LSU has two major matchups against #1 Alabama and #16 Texas A&M. LSU tickets stood pat at the #9 spot in our rankings but did decrease by one percent to $158 after the loss. The Tigers will get a break from the stiff SEC competition this week, hosting Furman before preparing for their big showdown with the Crimson Tide.

The Florida State Seminoles solidified themselves as a title contender after defeating the Clemson Tigers in Death Valley. Jameis Winston dominated the Clemson defense and silenced a packed crowd. Tickets to the game against Miami have already sold out after being in high demand. The ‘Noles are #3 in the AP Poll and #2 in the BCS rankings. One would expect prices to have heavily increased from last week. Shockingly, Florida State football tickets are down 12% from last week and slide to the #10 spot in the TiqIQ Top 25. Part of this might be due to the lack of competitive home games at the end of the season for the Seminoles. Expect this number to skyrocket as FSU tries to state its case for the national championship. Meanwhile, fans should take advantage while the price is still lower than it should.
